Trouble Sending Money Online?


There are so many Google results to send money it's hard to choose when it comes to sending money to someone you care about. What makes it even more complicated is the "fees" associated with each of their services. I compiled a list I'll be updating with the best companies to use and their fees.

PayPal
Receive payments funded by Credit Card, Debit Card or Buyer Credit:

4.9% + $0.30 USD (limit of 5 transactions per 12 month period)** for domestic or U.S. transactions

2% + applicable Fees Fees for cross border payments

4.9% plus $0.30 USD for card payments received using PayPal on Skype

Western Union
Their prices vary, but to send $1000 (a good example for dire situations), the fees were as follows:

$79.99 for an "instant" transfer to an agent's location
$49.99 for 3 business day delay to recipient's bank account
$49.99 next day to an agent's location

iKobo
Calculator is on their main page, so it's straight forward. For $1000 the service fee was only $35! They send money with a pre-paid Visa to your recipient.

USPS
Not many people use the Postal Service to send money, but here are their fees:

Domestic Money Orders

Fees:

$0.01 to $500.00 .......................$1.05
$500.01 to $1,000.00 ................$1.50
Postal Military Money Orders…..$0.30 (issued by military facilities)

Obopay
2.5% when from your debit or credit account. Free withdrawal to your bank account.
